This September, SWELL Sculpture Festival returns to Currumbin Beach — and I'm bringing two free wellness offerings to the festival's Yulagi Space, both open to everyone, no experience or booking required.
Sound Healing with Petra & Caio Duam — Sunday 13 September, 4–5.30pm
Petra Jayne (Prema Cacao) joins Caio Duam, registered music therapist, musician and founder of Respira Sound, for a heart-opening evening of medicine music and immersive sound healing. Blending songs in Spanish, Portuguese, English and Sanskrit with live instruments and rich soundscapes, we'll weave a journey into presence, connection and deep relaxation — inspired by the spirit of Pachamama and ancient healing traditions.
Expect a collection of medicine music from around the globe, flowing into a guided meditation with breath, and a deeply restorative sound journey for the nervous system. Bring a yoga mat, cushion or blanket, and allow yourself to soften into the experience.
Prema Shakti Rising: Cacao & Kirtan — Thursday 17 September, 4–6pm
Four days later, Prema Shakti Rising — our Gold Coast collective of musical friends, featuring Prema, Shunya Bell, Tara Powers, Alice Reid and Caio Duam — returns to Yulagi Space for a live kirtan and mantra journey. Expect sacred chants, uplifting heart songs, and the rich sounds of harmonium, percussion, guitar, keys and collective voices.
This is more than a performance — it's a shared musical experience designed to uplift the heart, quiet the mind, and bring people together through the universal language of sound, with moments of gentle sound immersion and community connection woven throughout. Cacao will be available on the day for those who'd like to add it (optional, extra cost).
Both sessions are free and drop-in — just turn up. Bring a mat or something soft to sit on, and come as you are.
